Nope, we have nothing at all against this interim solution. Stopping the Final Renegade cheaters stops a very large percentage of the cheaters out there who don't know enough to make their own cheats.

I'm the bawss.

How does this Anti-Cheat work? Is it simply not possible to use cheats on .pkg mods?

While mix files check themselves, then let files in the data folder over ride its internal information, this is not true with pkg's

Cos you can edit the mod with LE... and just export to smae name.. and your fine...
Ren jsut checks the name. Thatsh why you should add Version numbers to oyur modsnames to prefent version konflikts.

Try to focus people. This is not about egos any more and this is not a contest either. The common goal is still to stop cheating. The fools who criticize the Anti-Cheat Mod team's efforts have, for some reason, lost sight of that very goal. Because of the limitations of the Mod, any Mod, it is common knowledge that is nothing more than a quick fix, where as RenGuard is/will be a long-term solution. The creators of this Mod publicly support RenGuard because of this common goal and, unless there are hidden agendas involved, the support should be reciprocated. Anything else is counter-productive and will further divide what is left the rapidly dieing Renegade community.

A quick fix is worth about as much as the toliet paper I used to wipe my ass. This is what YOU don't understand. "Quick fixes" will not stop anything. This is not even used by anyone. Until RenGuard comes out, cheating will not be stopped.

Get your facts straight before you post anything. Sure, we all have a common goal, but certain people know fuck-all about doing game modifications or preventing cheats in said games. Help if you know what you're doing, otherwise STFU and let the knowledgable people take care of it for you.

Just shows his mentality.

Insult people, divide the community, show us all your pampas ego if you must.

It still does not mean you are right.

Does anyone see the irony of whining about me insulting others when you're doing the same thing to me? There's a difference here, Assweed, when it comes to opinions and facts.

Opinion: "ACK must have a huge ego."

Fact: "These people are releasing *.pkg files that do the same thing as any other *.pkg modification does, prevent cheating while using them."

Opinion: "ACK is dividing the community."

Fact: "The community is only divided in the sense that players are partitioned into WOL and GameSpy Arcade."

Opinion: "Pampas is a word that relates to a supposed ego."

Fact: "Pam·pas ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pmpz, pämpäs)

A vast plain of south-central South America extending for about 1,610 km (1,000 mi) from the lower Paraná River to south-central Argentina southwest of Buenos Aires."

ACK your still an idiot that released a POS map that everyone hates and only noobs play. You insult everyone for no good reason and I think that you get some sort of sick thrill out of having people hate you. So maybe we should just ignore you or even be nice to you and you might go away?

LOL.. "A" map.

and if everyone hates his map (singular for some reason) why do many servers play it?

sorry, I can't think of an intelligent way to correlate one map as he says to the numerous maps ACK has done.

You truly are stupid, do you know that?

ACK has released 2 other maps of Glacier_Flying, Glacier and GlacierTS, both of which are far less glitchy than the original. It is a very well-made map, it's just that the first one he released had a LOT of bugs in it.

If you are stupid enough to mock someone over a map which nobody plays because he has released better versions of it, you shouldn't even be playing the game. ACK was the ONLY person to get a fan-made map in a Westwood patch; let's see you do something remotely as good as he does, then you can complain to us.

Until then, stick to Hooked on Phonics.

I don't think I'm high and mighty. I'm just telling it like it is, you choose to think that I've got some sort of "high and mighty" attitude.

There ARE people who know more about this game than you do.
