I would write Greg email every now and then when i was stuck with a serious problem with modding Renegade - and he always answered - which in itself - something you would hope all game makers would do.
Anyway - when WestWood closed - i found out he resigned -- so i sent him an email expressing all our best wishes for him and his own - and told him we would keep this game alive --
he was kind enough to send the following reply:

Hey Bobby, good job with the mod faq and thanks for the kind words. I am really glad that a lot of people had and are having a lot of fun with Renegade. It is still weird to think that Westwood is gone because its all I've known for the past 7.5 years.

So - please - tip your cup to 'Greg Hjelstrom' - for it was his hard work that made modding Renegade possible.
And - please - try to help keep the community alive --- before you flame or get stupid - ask yourself - "will this help the community?"
Because - if you allow yourself to fall into the depths of flames/trolldom - this game and community will just be dust.....
