In level edit, top main tool bar, there is a group called "strings" I wanted to change the text that shows up in game when you point at a particular building. I went into "strings.tdb" picked the line I want, changed the text, and then tried to export the file. Here’s the error I keep getting.
"Cannot initialize Excel, this feature requires Excel installed on the machine"
I don't know why I'm getting this MSG. I have office2000 with all it's glorious programs including Excell INSTALLED. Do you know anything about this part of the level edit program?
Any one else that knows anything about this are also welcomed to reply.
Thanks in advance for all that do reply.

That does what you want. The execl thing I ahve never sued, and I dunno if that work, but that edit table works fine for me.

the edit thing worked fine for me too, but in game, it shows no name for the building. where did you put your strings.tdb file after you did the edits to it? mine was copied to my Renegade/data/
