Yeah use JPEGs you can get them down from 150kb to under 100 and at much better quality using JPEG compresstion. As a general rule use JPEG's for images with a large amount of colors such as photos and renders and GIF's for web objects such as logos's, templates, text etc.

it doesnt look so great cuz thats just the beta that got leaked and its not optimized. it went gold a few days ago so the final will hit shelves soon

The guys suit is all fuxored because that is multiplayer and most likely those were the colors the player chose to be his suit. I haven't fired up the MP part of Halo yet, so I'm not sure, but it makes a whole lot of sense.
My graphics in game do look better that Matt's, but I wouldn't say 100x better. The graphics are real impresive pre-UT2k3, which is when the game was released on XBOX. My graphics are better probably because I have 9500 Pro and a 2.4c overclocked to 3ghz with the AGP running at 83mhz so I can have AA and AF turned up and still be playable.
Those pictures look like it just does suffer from poor AF, and it looks like he might be using the newest leaked nVidia drivers (51 dets), which darkens the screen up a bit to hid nVidia's 'optimizations'. :twisted:

lol, thats because nvidia puts 'screen capture' cheats into their drivers.
And Matt, what card do you have? If it's a GF4MX, then it really is nothing more than an optimized GF2. And what version of the beta is that?
