I remember that in order to register on XWIS years ago I had to look through a few forums before I found out you just typed in a name and an 8 character password.
Is that even still the case?
Anyways, it would be nice if clicking multiplayer brought up a window explaining the differences between XWIS/WOL and GameSpy including instructions on how to play with each.

nope, you have to register an account then register your serial on the xwis website now, something hardly anyone knows.

it doesn't explain it anywhere, and it basically blew the chance that anyone new would come to Renegade
why on earth would someone seek that website out at random and know to register their serials on there to play online? it's terrible

Even I don't know how you're supposed to register it and I've been on these forums for 10 years. I gave up using XWIS when they added that stupid requirement, just makes things needlessly complicated for no good reason.

The interface used for registering doesn't look legit at all, basically looks like it came out of 1995 and the name of the actual community is 'strike-team.net'
