This is hilarious.
I can't believe people believe that ctrl+alt+delete will allow you to obby walk, it restarts your computer. My suggestion is to not believe everything you read.
In order to obby walk you must hit ~ then type %r%e%n then enter. After doing this the obelisk has a hard time targeting you, with this I have a 50% success rate.

Is this how you do it?
Turn your back to the ob, press alt, turn around and run forward while hitting tab and jumping?

make sure you're holding alt down.
