Can't get on anything xwis related!!! [message #465631]

Recruit

I can't get on xwis control panel or renegade.

I am also having trouble with strike forums...

Below is a hand written log of what happened...

--Renegade Error--
1.I enter my log on information. //Which I can't verify cause I can't get on xwis control panel for some reason.
2.Connecting // takes about 2-3 minutes to get to 3.
3.Gives two errors!!!
Unable to Connect to Server
Unable to Connect to Westwood online

--Strike Team Forum Error--
"Your account will be activated in 14 minutes"
Seems to not stop doing that...
I don't know and I don't care about strike team,but I mostly worried about renegade account...

So overall I can't get on xwis control panel,having trouble with strike team account,and can't get on renegade online...

I was also inactive for a long time,but I doubt thats the problem.

Only thing xwis control panel does is just take about 1-2 minutes and stops trying to load page.(Just a blank page when done "loading")

I can't get anywhere "renegade" related.Can you guys help me?

Use this program instead of XWIS: http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=452621&rid=0

Open up the program, configure your GSA name and stuff and then open the GSA tab and join what ever server you like.

Long time and well respected Renegade community member, programmer, modder and tester.

NEW ERROR

Patching freezes for me at 1 second near completion Dont Get It

Dont Get It

Weird thing is as it freezes at 1 second I canceled download cause it was frozen,but when I turn of renegade as I lost hope it froze.

Maybe that extra weird bug helps?

Anyway thanks for temporary solution till I get this fixed...

EDIT:OH NO IT DIDN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Errrm what's your issue then? You just said you couldn't get your game updated so I linked you an installer that includes the update you're having issues with..

Well I can't get on anything xwis related.

So I don't know if a simple update will help.

Can't get on Control panel,Renegade,and I am having problems with strike forums.

Heard suckish things about 4.0,so I don't really know if I want it anyway.

I am using 3.2.1 Scripts I think.It was a .exe installer?Could I be having weird issues with it?

If so,how could it effect me on xwis control panel website?It wouldn't make any sense.I think update worked anyway.Not sure though...

Guys its not just scripts....

This is a full xwis block.Not a scripts problem.

I get white screen when I try to go to xwis control panel.

Being completly blocked is not a scripts problem.Unless my scripts hacked my computer,blocked my websites, and screwed up my game which seems very unlikely right now...

Any ideas what causing this shit?

Please help.Not gona get anywhere with scripts...

As you said you can't get on anything XWIS related.
This is not XWIS, this is the Renegade forums. Unless someone from XWIS posts here, we don't know anything more than you do.

That aside, the only way(s) I could think of why you wouldn't be able to access the XWIS forums and/or control panel is:
1. Wrong URL (see links below)
2. DNS problem (check with your ISP)
3. Firewall (turn it off and try again)
4. Windows HOSTS file redirecting the XWIS DNS name to another IP (remove any entries to westwood, xwis or wol related sites)
5. Adblocker of some sort (make sure it doesn't block the XWIS sites)

It was window's hosts file.

Now that its fixed and things are working now.What the heck made that modification to the hosts file?

Maybe you ran WOLProxy or something similar on your computer at some point (a program that keeps an FDS running in the event of XWIS going down. it does this by changing c.xwis.net to 127.0.0.1 in the hosts file).
