I got a similar problem. Renegade with scripts 4.2 had been working properly until I upgraded to Windows 7 (x64). When I reinstalled Renegade and scripts 4.0 I was no longer able to play. I got the same error Zeratul got. I ran mixcheck as an admin and it said:
"Error (code 2): Failed to open TT registry entries."
I also don't have game2.exe

I had the issue but i fixed it by obtaining a fully updated game2.exe and implanting that where it should be.

Am getting the same message and disabled nortons and marked everything as trusted. Nothing. It tells me to "set working folder" and try again. I am on my 11th reinstall and getting tired of it.I even went with a earlier version and it does the same thing.I have opened the mixcheck program and it says data\always.dat does not exist or not compatible and it searches for a while with nothing oddly enough after installing the tt and enaging renip it downloads something no clue what then crap out. Any help with this? I had the early version go right over renguard the last time no issus.
