Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I am curious about something of these bills.

One news article says this,

"The bills propose that anyone found guilty of streaming copyrighted content without permission 10 or more times within six months should face up to five years in jail."

Does that mean, without downloading, if I were to stream a episode of a TV show online, Megavideos?, I will get in trouble? or am I miss something?

^This.

I don't know how they plan on monitoring this, tbh. If that's the case, thousands of people, maybe millions, will be penalized and a lot even jailed for this case. I hope this shit doesn't pass.

Its not going to pass, or even if it does, there isn't enough space in jail for all the people effected by it

That's one of the problems. The wording is too broad and could be easily abused.

well, if it would pass, then a lot of boycotts will happen in real life and on the net from the best hackers for sure. Not only that, but that would even ruin america, which stood for freedom.. So people would be living in a lie.

Uh, no.

It was an operation in tandem with New Zealand and was underway for a couple weeks.

This actually undermines the SOPA effort. It shows that existing legislation like the DMCA works fine.

Im not too sure whether I just dont enjoy Anime anymore or whether its just I dont have time really to shit and watch it.

As of now, SOPA and PIPA have officially been defeated.

They are likely to return someday in a new form, but for now the panic is over.

Incorrect, with our current socialist leader, Obama, it will soon be considered the United Socialist States of America.

I can't believe these communist/socialist/Marxist bastards haven't learned that free people will absolutely not tolerate it and that it ALWAYS leads to us kicking the shit out of them.

Being a socialist and being a communist are two different things.
Granted socialism is too broad a term to be specifically defined, it does, for one thing, still allow for a free market economy.

Obama socialist... LOL
It shows how clouded your judgment is. Look at countries like the Scandinavian countries* and to a lesser extend to the Netherlands*. In your opinion that would be worse than socialism (if you call Obama a communist/marxist). Yet they have a higher living standard than the US. They show you're wrong and socialism doesn't necessarily means that the economy will crash.

Not to mention that there is a huge difference between socialism, marxists and communism.

And look at the USA, the "liberal" government wanted to introduce things like pipa and sopa, let the current crisis happen by not exerting enough control over banks. Then they safe the bank from bankruptcy. Basically what they have been doing is reverse socialism: Privatise the profits, socialise the losses.

*) Based on GPD per inhabitant: Norway is rated 6th country in the world, Denmark is rated 10th, The Netherlands is rated 16th and Sweden is rated 18th. The USA is rated 20th.
