norton

There's your problem. Get rid of Norton, it gives out more false positives than any other antivirus.

Probably not. We have only had reports that Norton throws these false positives. I have reported it to Symantec hoping to get it resolved but they have still not replied to that.

If you are going to run an antivirus, false positives are better than overlooked positives, after all, what is the point of having an antivirus if you can find it all yourself. Razz

virus detection doesn't work like a magical scale of "too much" or "too little", where you want the one that's juuust right- it's either right or it's wrong when it comes to detecting if a file is malicious or not.
