As title says... Someone fix the site. Its really slow and sometimes fails to make a connection.

My server host unexpectedly had to change my IP address. Unfortunately, they did not notify me of this and I had to figure it out on my own after a few hours of downtime. The new DNS settings should have propagated by now so it should be OK.
For my troubles, I got a free month of service. :\
I'm the bawss.

I am sure she would be happy to do that if you wanted to donate some money to cover the cost. Otherwise stop whinging about a service she is providing to you for free. I am sure Crimson isn't made of money, as with everyone there's a limit to what she can afford to shell out every month supporting these forums and other sites.

When I moved these forums to this particular server, I had lost my source of income. When I have no income, I don't like to spend money on things that aren't necessary to survive. These forums are on that list. So, I downgraded and drastically reduced my monthly bill on these forums. (and the other non-n00bstories Renegade stuff I host like the ladder, RenegadeCommunity.com, etc)
I'm not seeking a bunch of praise and attention for the sacrifice I do make to pay to keep these forums online. (And in case you felt like donating, you can always send money via PayPal to crimson@n00bstories.com or crimson@blackhand-studios.net)
I did, however, get a pretty good job working for Cisco, supporting some applications for the Networking Academy. If anyone cared to remember, I worked for them 6 years ago and some of my current job responsibilities are the same ones I had way back when. I've been back there for about 4 months now. I can afford the servers/sites again, and I intend, in the very near future, to go back to dedicated hosting with SoftLayer so these forums can be more stable.
Though it may seem crazy to think that I have been paying to host these forums for nearly 9 years now, you must remember that in doing these projects for Renegade and n00bstories.com, I have learned valuable career skills and gained experience that allows me to hold down the job I have today. So, rather than investing in school, I got my education here, in real-life experience.
I'm the bawss.

OK, I'm tired of it. Ever since they "changed my IP" which probably means I got moved to another server, it's been even worse than before. Based on simple ping testing, the server has 10% downtime, but in reality it's probably much worse.
I have ordered a new dedicated server from SoftLayer and I will be migrating the site over in the next few days. This new server will be infinitely better than the one we're on now, and the one we were on before this one.
Fortunately, I now have the monthly salary to afford a better server again, and it also helps that I received a couple of generous donations from the community. (One of them, I still don't know who it was from. :\ )
I'm the bawss.
