EA likes to re-package games and throw in "CLASSIC" just so the game can be priced down and re-boxed to look new and thrown into the bargain bin at wal-mart so more 9 year olds point the cool looking box out to their parents and take it home and try to install it onto their pentium 133 mmx argh.
just like how Virgin used to re-package C&C and call it "WHITE LABEL" and make a new fancy box and price it down to $9.99

Yeah it is. It's in the PC store magazine for september 2003. It's part of the EA classics and it's selling for £10 here rather than £20 as it is now.

You must understand, EA are very good at selling there shit games, and reselling stock. Its the support and maintence is were there lacking.
EA Marketing = Good
EA Tech Support = Bad

It's the community support and long lasting game support that is lacking, to say the least.
The tech support itself is good, very good even.... I'm referring to the actual support department that helps out with technical stuff. Never had a problem with them, always helpful... if you know how to use it. Heh....
Anyway, the Classic is just a very low priced re-release of the game. 8.99 Pounds according to a UK site.
That's good, maybe there will be an influx of new Renegade players to the community.
Now we just need them to be recieved well by the current community... new mappers, modders, skinners, whatever....
Hehe.... Time to do some PR work for Renegade.
