Well.. how do i remove every single file that TT patch installed? Or do have to uninstall ren, delete folders/files.. go in application data and delete files there? I just want to remove every thing it put on my computer! Give me a list where everything is and what to remove? please! Thanks!

Yeah i know, its like they don't want people uninstalling! Maybe come out with an un-installer that deletes every single file(even the hidden ones) from your computer, along with restoring your old files!
but does anyone know how to remove every single file? I have no problem uninstalling-re-installing ren again. but i know TT puts more files somewhere else(like app data folder), but where else?

EvilWhiteDragon wrote on Sat, 17 September 2011 21:18 | No it's like we didn't want to make a lot of people wait longer for TT. Besides that, an uninstaller would be rather difficult I gues due to changed to the registry, and of course changes/patches to a lot of files. Because of this it's not possible to easily uninstall it or to install the patch manually.
Easiest way is reinstalling renegade for now.

Ouch...
Maybe there needs be a disclaimer of this oops PRIOR to downloading to that people are aware that they cannot rollback.

Well, perhaps we didn't think of that, and well, we did mention beta. Not everything is flawless unfortunately, which is shown by the lack of a uninstaller .

Afaik, you can make these changes to uninstall.
- Move files in <rendir>/backup/ to their original locations (may be <rendir>/data/, may be <rendir>/).
- Remove <userdir>/My Documents/Renegade (optional, save some space)
- Remove files that are new in TT (optional, the only big one is the directory <rendir>/ttfs/ and all of its contents, the other files are quite small and I don't have a complete list ready).
- Remove HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Westwood/Renegade and HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Wchat from the registry (not recommended, you gain no performance or anything by removing this, and if you do it wrong you may mess up other things.)
Some configuration changes you made in TT may be lost, your original Renegade configuration (before you installed TT) will mostly be restored.
As for why there is no uninstaller: Removing the renegade directory is all you really need to uninstall it. Eventually 4.0 is supposed to be a automatically distributed patch, so for the final version no uninstaller is necessary anyway, and no earlier version of scripts.dll ever had an uninstaller either. Sure it would be nice to have something like that, but I can see why it was never made. (Actually, many software patches cannot be uninstalled without uninstalling the software itself.)

If i said it as melware i would say it is. I just like to know where files are going on my computer, specially when its my Tech school computer(which I own). Doesn't everyone like to know where files go?
And blacky talked me into using 4.0 so no need to uninstall for now
