I use to play Command and Conquer Renegade a lot, it has to be one of the best shooting games ever made. There was one huge problem that hendered the gameplay: Lag. I loved playing the game even though I must've said hey to every rock in each level when I instantly appeared to it. I quit maybe a week after the helicopter patch was released. It was a great add-on, but... I just couldn't take the lag no further.
I come back a long time later, and see there is now Linux to the game... well I think. Which was heavily demanded back in the old days. Now I ask you, the current players that still play this game... Is there anymore lag or bugs? Is it worth reinstalling? I really want to know, cause I have really gotten in the mood for a shooting army type map.

Is it worth it ? I'd say so. Every online game I've ever played had their own issues Renegade is no different. The lag aspect of it depends on a) the server b) your connection. In most cases when ppl are lagging bad there are always ppl in the game who have no lag (once again lag = your connection sometime). Anyways, my 2cents.
edit : I also use to play Urban Terror (Quake3 Mod) and it had some really sweet (NOT) bugs like shooting blanks ! ie. point blank shotgun blast *somtimes* wouldn't do jack. So consider that when complaining about Renegade !

Exactly, Every game has Lag factor. It can be casued by your own connection or some little 56k'ers that are in the same game, it all depends on the server you join, my Fav = Crimson's Sniper Server

Install it and find a game with good ping and there are loads out there...
I have a cable modem and I never get any lag unless there is a 56k host.

I guess if I see a lot of lag... there is no point of reinstalling it....
