I finally finished working on my new product, called Sla Server Browser Compact (is a connect tool for Command & Conquer Renegade only)

This tool doesn't get any server list, but you can modify the server list like you want and add your favorite servers, currently i added most important servers witch i think most peoples likes them (Jelly-Server Marathon, n00bstories and exodus co-op) -- side note: if you don't like them, you can remove them, are just default for first time start.

The idea with this tool come from RenIP, but i wanted something more simple and fast Wink , so here is.

This tool runs on any Windows (exception 95/98/ME because they the sys tray plugin doesn't work with them)

Features:
- runs in background (on sys tray)
- easy to use and change options
- not many buttons Razz
- rapid server connect
- you can make it to start with windows (me i did this already)

I just use an app launcher widget on the desktop with shortcuts for each of the servers I like to join. No need to run extra applications in the background then.

It's a good concept though, I am sure there will be people who find it useful.

Tbh, it would need a link to a central db which you keep up to date, so that the ip and port auto changes when a server changes ip or port.

the tool is very usefull for fans for some servers, soon we will make Sla Server Browser Protocol who will be used on full version of Sla Server Browser, this tool will have gsa support.

Oh I didn't want to say it before, because I like the fact that people still care about developing for Renegade, and I like what hes doing... but I top all your suggestions. Rene-Buddy will replace the main server menu for renegade. It will mimmick connecting to WOL and will not need direct connect to join a game. I finally figured it out 8 months ago but I have a dev job and a fiance.... gots no time to finish.

SSB Compact is Portable, Fast and Simple. thats all i wanted. SSB Full will include a gsa query and a new protocol called "Sla Server List Protocol"

Renip does the same thing except it doesn't have pre defined servers... I don't see why you have made this.

"Nice" another app that does exactly the same as 5643653424389 other apps except it has the most useless addition of running when you absolutely not need it. It's not like it's any harder to start the program than to get it out of systray.

compact version of ssbc means doesn't download server list, is configured by user

maybe i will work on next version who will have server list from gsa.
