C&C Renegade HD Remake
With its unique multiplayer gameplay C&C Renegade has no alternate out there.I personally could not find another game with similar gameplay to Renegade. Shortly it is a great and unique game.
The fact is amount of Renegade players are getting less year by year. From now on only a few hundreds of Renegade players of the multiplayer community are still active world wide. The reasons to this are the games graphics are very old by now and like nobody is aware of the game because of almost no commercials.
So unfortunately seems like this awesome game with unique multiplayer gameplay is gonna be totally forgotten as the amount of players is decreasing every day.
At this point we would like if EA ever could remake a HD version of C&C Renegade. This would help at two points that first of all better graphics but more important is the remake of the game would be commercialized, so that the multiplayer community may reach its old popular days.

I have more confidence in their team than I do in EA creating an accurate remake/sequel. Just look what happened to C&C4, that totally captured the feel of a true C&C game...

They've been working on the single player campaignfor the UDK, but their original release date was summer 2010.
It's understandable that a single player campaign is taking that long but imo they should have focused on multiplayer. Unrealscript's documentation is pretty terrible and they probably have to create much of the 3D assets

Yeah, we are moving over to the UDK, which will make Renegade X a standalone game. The reason why we're releasing the singleplayer mini-campaign first is because the porting process is a lot of work. Coding is a big task and a lot of our code needed to be redone for the UDK version of Renegade X. Static meshes and maps are another thing. 80% of what we're doing for the singleplayer is being used in the multiplayer anyhow, so think of Black Dawn as a nifty present from us halfway through development of the standalone release.

Renegade-X sure does look good, but it just doesn't have the feel of the old game. That's afaik the reason not that many people are playing it.

I guess that would depend on who you're talking to. We're either too similar to Renegade (same units/prices/remade maps/gamemode/arcadey gameplay, etc.) to some people, or too different from it (rotatable MRLS turret/a physics engine/no walljump/our own points system) to others. We've been bashed by both crowds, it's interesting to see two very different crowds join up against our humble project.
And Ack's right - in the UDK, we're doing it our way.
