My best friend and a group of nobles recently attacked me. They repeatedly stabbed me, at first I fought, but upon realizing my best friend was in on it, I gave up. I believe one of the senators may have convinced him that I have become corrupt. However knowing this particular senator, I reckon he just wanted to take power for himself, I fear that this attempt on my life may split the Republic into a civil war. I just want to know though, were my best friend's actions that of betrayal or were they understandable?
