Out of curiosity, why do people cheat in multiplayer games? More specifically, using cheats that are a lot more subtle and could be seen as just "skill" in some people's eyes. I can somewhat understand when you're bored and just go into a big game to do something ridiculous and kill everyone in an obvious cheating manner. But there's cheats out there that try to be as subtle as possible, so they don't get detected.
Why? Do you just want to win without being caught cheating? That kind of removes the idea of just doing it for shits and giggles. And it removes the fun of competitive playing, because you KNOW you'll be winning.
Discuss.
PS: I don't expect people to post "LOL YA I CHEAT IN REN", I mean in general on multiplayer games. I'm sure there's a few people who've cheated on other games in this manner.
PPS: Don't comment with "LOL CUZ THEY HAVE NO SKILL AND ARE SAD LITTLE MEN GG", that's just stupid. I'm legitimately curious.

For the record I do not cheat, I am trying to put myself in a cheaters mind set...
It's fun to be naughty sometimes.
It's more fn to be naughty and get away with it, so being subtle is a ood way to avoid being caught.
It's nice to have people think you're a good player.
When you're getting headshot and dieing quite a bit, it's nice to seek some revenge and get that damn fucker.
You're pretty sure other people are cheating anyway.
You're team are full of window lickers, so it's self justifiable to give yourself an edge, because seriously, your team is that bad!
Curiousity to try it out.
I think most of all though, it's probably because they are quite fed up with their shitty lives, or just really bored. Instead of being the sucky n00b that keeps dieing and getting pissed off, it's time to go makes others pissed off and rage. It somehow makes them feel a bit better, if only for a moment...

Serious note, was discussing this with simpee the other day and I think it relates a lot to people thinking others cheat.
They can't comprehend that someone can be that good sometimes, therefore in order for it to make sense to them.
They must cheat they are on par with the other person(who they think is cheating).
Thats how it works in clanwars anyway.
