The dot is extremely bright. I'm waring safety goggles while I'm taking this photo because it is really bright. Also note that the air in the room is clear, there is no fog or smoke or dust floating around. That beam is visible under normal, everyday conditions. Words can't describe how awesome it is.

Here is a photo of it in my room without the window shades drawn. This particular window faces the sun as it sets, so the sun is shining directly into my room at that point in the day. Notice how you can still see the laser beam clearly (or as clearly as this iPod can show) despite the intense light coming from the sun.

Here are some before and after shots of the beam in my room after I closed the blinds to make it darker. The dot is so incredibly bright that it tints my entire room green.

Here is another room in my house with larger windows also facing the sunset. These shots show the beam much clearer than the other shot I took.
