So, basically this project died a swift death after some people decided they had infinite time to manually upload bad images and vandalize the shit out of the wiki.
But, now, there are better ways out there to control spam. Firstly, I now have an automated script that downloads a 100k-large database of known spammer IPs once a day and blocks them right off the bat. I have also added a simple CAPTCHA to minimize automated edits.
I can also still use our "editor" group to allow people to bypass the CAPTCHA once they have demonstrated they are not in it to mess everything up. The requirements for this are not going to be super-restrictive. Just ask.
Anyway, have fun. Either traffic improves or it doesn't... I hope it does, though.
