so this wretched, villainous old slug is over here now as an honoured guest. i'm not sure whether that's more or less offensive than when that medieval gangster King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia was given the same honours.

this guy sums it up pretty well

In southern India, there is a preacher by the name of Dinakaran. You can think of him as our pope. He claims to have "seen" Jesus many times and can "heal" too.

He is the leader of a massive organization known as "Jesus Calls" that reaps enmorous financial gians. They even have a "Young Partners" program where parents can "enroll" their children into so they the "taskforce of prayer warriors" can pray for them each day. All for a yearly fee that is.

He is a theiving son of a bitch but thanks to people's idioitc delusional gulliability, he is seen as some grand king. Nobody can critize him or his family because his fans will immediately come down on you.

I guess this same delusional frenzy all based upon a grand lie gives the same sort of support for the pope.

The Vatican is not a country. It's beyond me why the FBI, CIA, and INTERPOL haven't had a big fat feel-good beatdown on these slimeballs. Betraying the teachings of God, and Jesus will mean these rapists will burn in Hell anways, but in the meantime, they should also be subjected to the laws of this world too.

tbh, I don't think the faith-befuddled governments of today will get anything done. As long that's the case, these guys can commit every crime under the sun and get away with it.

While people pretend to understand how the word works, the reality is that no one has the slightest clue.

There is absolutely nobody in the world that fully understands any one item; be it a system or a person or whatever. There might people who consider themselves professionals in certain fields, but that by no means means they know all there is to know about their given field.

This, tied in with human's natural yet baseless fear of openly admitting to ignorance, is what allows certain crimes and whatnot to go on.

The average person would rather admit to not knowing something because "they don't care" rather than admit to making a mistake or having the wrong insight.

Bad things like this will happen and continue to happen because few too little people will openly confront their actions by questioning the motives of the people they blindly believe in. Most people will just allow it to continue because they don't care enough to actually delve into things that are actually happening. They trust their good name and can't comprehend them doing something bad. Some will even go as far to outright defend something they don't fully understand.

..In this case, people would defend Christianity and the Pope because he is a Christian... but at the same time be unaware of what he really has done.

it's a lovely day today, and that's good, because it's my best friend's wedding. maybe the weather is due to the pope's magic powers. after all, he can turn wine into blood, though i'm not quite sure why anybody wants him to.

The pope isn't responsible for shit. He may be held accountable, but accountability != responsibility.

An individual is responsible for his actions.
A leader may or may not be held accountable, but it doesn't change anything if he is or isn't, since he isn't responsible to begin with.

I agree with this.

I've noticed that people tend to allow themselves to blame people with power more easily than people without it.

I don't believe it's right to punish someone for something that they, themselves, have never done. Even if they are 'linked' to said crimes, if they themselves haven't actually done anything, they are under no obligation to be held responsible.

For example, if someone is going around bragging and proclaiming that they are a Nazi, why should they be punished for doing so? Anyone can believe what they want to believe. That's what makes everyone different. It isn't right to discriminate against them because their moral code conflicts with yours.

Saying you like to kill people is much different than actually killing someone.

The Vatican has one of the best spy networks in the entire bloody world. The Pope could order those responsible to be found and excommunicated and purge his church of the rot in less than a year. Thus exposed and denied the Church's protection, they could then be effectively pursued and squashed by law enforcement, and given the prison-raping they all so richly deserve.

We're talking about the one and only religion that is literally a nation unto itself- there are Vatican embassies in nearly every country that has a Catholic presence. The Roman Catholic Church has been around longer than any other organized governing body, their power structure has existed in its present form since before the invention of the printing press, and they have their fingers in places even the CIA would salivate over getting a look at. If they wanted the problem gone, it would be gone. It isn't as though child rape is part of a Catholic priest's vows, after all- these pedophiles are a cancer that has been allowed to spread through negligence, incompetence, and a desire on the part of the Church's leaders to save face rather than drag their Church's dirty laundry out into the open in order to stamp out the problem.

Ironically, the longer they keep at the cover-up game, the more attractive they look to the next batch of child-raping asshats. In order to get rid of them, the Church must first make itself a dangerous place for a pedophile to be. They have the means to do that, just not the will.

"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

boomer and razor... you are aware of the fact the vatican has been systematically shielding its child-rapist employees from the law for decades, shifting them to new parishes, bullying and coercing the poor victims into signing secrecy agreements, threatening people with hell if they talk to anyone outside the church about it... and that the current pope was a key figure in this whole evil scheme?

i don't say the pope himself is a child rapist (i don't think anyone's ever said that); i said he's an accomplice in thousand of child rapes, or maybe 'accessory' is the right word.
