Some of you may have experienced this sometime.
When hosting a LAN FDS when there is NO internet connection available
you'll notice that the FDS takes a loooong time to startup.
This is because it tries to connect to master.gamespy.com for
some weird reason.
To fix this open your hostsfile located in (usually) C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
with notepad and add the following line:
127.0.0.1 master.gamespy.com

Now the FDS will startup straight away.

Hi all.
How can I create a working LAN server during hamachi?
i've tried it but the others couldn't join the game. They clicked the join button but nothing happened.
Please help me!

Well, if I recall, Renegade's LAN support was never fully completed and is therefore buggy as hell even on a standard LAN. I'm fairly sure it won't even work on Hamachi, but something also tells me there was somebody that used to run a Hamachi server for Renegade a while back... hell if I know.

It was me? In Love

And yeah Ren works over LAN and Hamachi. But I think it doesnt work with no gameplay pending patch. I cannot remember how setup it exactly. But FDS was on my LAN and Hamachi network.
