K heres my story

I was jsut sitting back instaling XP SP1

BAM. Locked up

BAMM. I restarted.

BAMMMM. Goes to starting xp screen logo thingie and....

BAAAMM. Blue screen really really fast and........

BAAM. Restarted( by it self ............)

Suspects:

Final Renegade(Not a cheater)
Blaster worm


Crying or Very Sad

note: on a friends computer

Thats the easiest way, it will save you a hell of a lot of time in messing around, but you may wanna try accessing your hard drive from another machine to backup the files (unless your are able to from your current machine)....

Boot from your Windows XP CD into the recovery console and d a repair installation of the operating system. You may loose some settings but it should allow you to boot and have access to your programs and files again.

now it wont even start to boot

get a boot disk error

tried changed my cd drive to boot........didnt work so i changed it back......


im tryign the xp boot disks but it wont even start(read above) soooo......


i have my old win95 pc(which doesnt support NTFS)

Does it even post? as in trying to read the bios? If not there is a jumper terminal near lithium battery that when switched according to motherboard manual, will reset bios.

Does it complete the POST (power on self test)? This means does the computer load past the memeory check and disk detection processes? It should give you some more information than just "boot faliure".

Your bios could be damaged, or, your harddrive is dead. Swap out the damged part in to another PC and try to accsess it. I dont hold out much hope though.
