the folder icon to the left of a topic is red on RenForums theme if there are unread messages, and blue if there are no new messages.

I am talking about the forum homepage, showing which forum sections have new posts. On the Renegade_Forums theme (black and murky green) it has those light bulb icons which I find very hard to tell the difference between forum sections with new posts and those without.

Really? I can read them easily, perhaps it isn't as clear-cut as red/blue but I have no problem telling which is new/notnew from the lightbulb icons.
