She hopped into a conversation I was having on st0rm's IRC about their language filter and warnings it gives (mainly how it doesn't warn mods, therefore they don't have to follow the rules they enforce)... She was not very pleasent, I can't understand why any gaming community would put someone in her position with such a bad reputation of being an e-bitch.
|
That's some backwards ass logic...
|
Yea... their filter is just all sorts of retarded. You can write some variances of "bad" words without warning. The part about the mods was just dumb, I got warned for saying "fuck", then a mod was like,
"lol"
"fuck"
"fuck"
"fuck"
"ha ha I can say it, you can't"...
Something along those lines anyway.
I went to IRC and asked why they even had a filter... She came into the conversation after about 5 mins and said something like, "because we do, deal with it, it is not gonna change"... but with more bitchy attitude.
I could understand a server having a "no swearing" policy as long as the staff has to follow it aswell.

Heh, when we used brenbot's swearbot, gamers had 3 warnings while mods got immediate kick as they're supposed to give the good example.

We don't really care about swears and we really never have... the filter was actually supposed to be removed a couple of weeks ago. It is supposed to be set for racist remarks only. I've noticed that "gamers" tend to jizz their pants when someone says that they are a girl online. It's quite fascinating. So rayven could be a guy could be a girl...does it really matter? I find it a little suspicious myself because a lot of people that use the internet are sick and pull dumb shit just to get attention (just like this thread). Well guess what... It worked! Not only do we have that junk on our forums but now this one as well. You laugh how so many people replied to "her" post... but that's not even the funny part. The funny part is that you would go onto a forum, read a twelve page thread then come to another forum and start up yet another completely useless thread just to bash on the other useless thread. Congratulations... You've accomplished a lot! It's actually quite sad that there's people who would take the time and effort to read that whole thing and then pull 10+ quotes from it. I'm sorry but you really must have no life. I'm on that forum all the time and I haven't even read 1/3 of it. I'm lol-ing at all of you who would waste your time with this kind of childish garbage but hey people get bored...what can you do?

It could be used to censor the websites that host cheats, or the names of cheats.

I dunno, I think it's fine. It's not harmful, and it's not "cool" either. It just comes out. I don't see why it would be censored... it's usually people who just want a reason to persecute other people that want "bad words" to be censored.
Anyways, I'm still loling at this topic.

if your on a roll and an engineer kills you, renerage shall NOT be censored. !!
What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do.
