Liquedv2, yew need to branch out a little on your thinking. I'm sure you'll twig it soon enough, but you're barking up the wrong tree.
The map is budding with new ideas and great game-play, AitcraftKiller just has to get to the root of the problem, it seems to have him pretty stumped right now.
Leaf him alone, he's doing a good job. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say this map isn't fir you.
Anyway, this thread is really starting to lumber along, all this over some sap's map? I thought the game was dead, but this thread at least is poplar. It makes me pine for the days of yonder.
At the end of the day, life's a Beech.. Who wood of thought it?

Did you guys have to do anything special to get your extra mouse buttons to work? I have a MXRevolution (<3 this mouse) and Renagede sees all the extra keys as escape buttons for some damn reason. I really want to use my thumb buttons but I can't.

Buy a mouse with a 3rd button so you don't lose scope...
I suggest Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000.
Edit: I guess you could use the scroll button on you mouse but, I personally didn't like it. On my mouse the 3rd button is right under my thumb on the side.

Thx that mouse does look good. My whole thing is my current mouse has a roller/third button but I don't like the feel of it.
I have a custom key setting saved where Q is secondary fire/scope. And right mouse button is free aim and left mouse button is primary. I use this only when say I join a server and feel like cracking some heads with a officer or am just teching on foot.
But when in vehicles, I go the default controls so I can use right mouse button for stank/mlrs/mammoth rockets.
It kinda gets annoying though switching between the 2 key settings while in-game but I am so used to it it doesn't really matter.

When my mouse installed the drivers it also gave me a configure thing in my start menu. I just went to the configure thingy and set my side button to "V".

In Windows, open up the mouse configuration dialog box. You can then assign hotkeys to the buttons on the mouse. It might be that Renegade says they are Enter keys because that's what Windows says they are.
I know when I installed my mouse drivers, my scroll wheel was set to 'minimize.' So I'd try to scroll a web page, and it would go into my taskbar.

Hmm, usually when a game doesn't play nice with the extra buttons on my mouse I use the mouse's tool to reassign the buttons to some random key I rarely press like the brackets ][.
If the game still won't acknowledge the mouse buttons when you try to configure your key settings in the game menu, try pressing the original key instead and then test it in-game? So instead of pressing mouse 3 to assign to free aim, press the [ key (or whatever key you assign). Then see if it works in-game or not because the logitech signals should indeed overrule what Windows sees or what the game thinks it sees.
I haven't actually tried that because it never occurred to me to assign free aim to my extra mouse buttons because I rarely use it due to it messing up my strafes by taking the use of my index finger. In retrospect this is genius and I'm going to go do it now.

I don't know anyone considered top 10 of all time who used that shit in the open...Simpee doesn't even use it when hugging in the tunnels (dummy) and he still fared rather well in sniper servers. If there's no wall to look&shoot over/past, there is no reason to use it...it's a crutch for people who just aren't good at aiming. I'm on your favorite player's list, AoW AND sniping...who the fuck are you two? I'd could probably still beat you 2v1 and I'm not talking sniping. I'll concede that several elite tunnel-snipers excessively used V, but those are guys that could never get good at scoping, let alone AoW clanwars.

I'm not saying using V all the time is good, either. It's actually pretty stupid as you end up not getting much of a view, but its uses are certainly not limited soley to hugging. Again, mid to long range, it can be handy. I used to actually be pretty decent at sniping and would be able to pop someone from a damn long distance without scoping, thanks to free aim.
