My other topic about PM's got locked.

I personally did not say anything about all the other shit in my PM's topic (funny how everyone else saw it that way). Nor have I ever used my PM's here for conspiracy related to that other shit.

But if this is the way it is gonna be handled it is just gonna end the same way as the other thread about using powers here in a biased way...

Edit: Now that i think about it this should prolly get moved to heated discussions, if it is not locked. Don't bother deleting it as I am taking a SS and saving it for proof that it actually was here.

Wonder why it was locked :S

And I bet any answer someone gives me will be biased.

It was locked for the same reason his PMs are blocked. And for the same reason why this thread will be locked soon.

Crimson/whoever is locking these threads and such, I understand the want to remove any negativity in these forums, and while I do understand that a thread that relates to n00bstories will usually result in flaming, don't just up and lock it when no negativity has really been spread. The guy asked an honest question, and got honest answers.

There's a line between keeping things tidy and being a nazi. Try not to cross that line, or people will get pissed and even more people will leave the Renegade community.

I agree. This isn't about the integrity of n00bstories but rather the collective Renegade community gathering on a single forum.

If the n00bstories servers and backups all just up and exploded, leaving the world for ever, Renegade would still live on.

The n00bstories hate prevention can very well lead to people leaving the community, and that effects everyone in the game as a whole, not just people who like or dislike n00bstories.

Now, I don't have any clue what the debate about it is, and nor do I care.. but what I do know is that if people stop playing Renegade for reasons relating to n00bstories, then that effects me as a fellow player.

All I want is either my PM's to be magically turned back on, or for the person who turned them off to give me a good answer as to why they are off... hopefully one that wouldn't be biased towards any paticular server.

I will completely drop all of this, if I get one of the above.

We all know it's because you guys are part of the Exodus community that your pm system got disabled, no use in avoiding it.

Lol, I am not actually a part of any community atm... tbh, lately I have been playing in a lot of servers, mostly jelly. Sadly I even played in n00bstories for a lil bit the other day... The only reason I made the topic about the word filter was because that was complete BS to be on a forums that is supposed to bring all of the Renegade community together.

I know this will never happen, but I think there should be a list of links to ALL Renegade related websites, rather they be for servers, skins, or anything else. How can this be the public forums if it is obviously biased to certain communities and people.

Sadly, after all the "PR" Crimson has done with different groups, you'd think she'd be a lil bit better at it.

Renegade related websites come and go. If you look at the number of "clans" that are created and only last a week or two, then you know that what you suggest is impossible. A wiki system could work if there's dedicated people, but my call for help with the renegadewiki and renegadecommunity news got exactly one positive reply, nothing else. If the community doesn't care for it, then I won't care for it either...

Sadly, after all the "PR" Crimson has done with different groups, you'd think she'd be a lil bit better at it.

Personally I don't think Crimson herself is the problem really. The problem is more that she doesn't communicate with people, or not in a way that allows constructive ideas which are not fully in the line with Crimson's ideas.

In an ideal world the Renegade Forums would have a board of directors (say 3 or 5 people) which would've been chosen by the users of the forums. They would set up the rules, policies and would suggest people for moderatorship.
Before someone can become a moderator, the users should have to agree, and the users should also be able to suggest other people for moderatorship.
Moderators shouldn't have any power besides what they have to. This would mean that they would also be bound to the rules as agreed by the users.

In such world it would hardly be impossible to be unhappy with how Renegadeforums is run. Also it would be impossible to say that anyone of the directors or other important persons is abusing their powers. This should enable Renegadeforums to be truely THE forum for ALL communities, even if some of them may disagree with others.

It would also make it very hard to run these forums, especially if the board directors wouldn't agree on an issue.

You can't expect the masses to always make the best decisions. A 100 % democratic approach does, IMO and in my experience, not work in these cases. An as democratic as possible approach could be to ask people's opinions to be able to make an educated decision.

The best way to run this forum is to keep it the same as it is now. The only change I would make is allowing everyone equal rights unless they do something to harm this site specifically.

Meaning, everyone should be allowed to PM, regardless of their community ties. However, if they were to say, hack someone's account and log in as an admin or something, then that's when permissions for that person should start being taken away.

The point is, even though the head admin here is the same person who leads n00bstories, this community should generally have nothing to do with n00bstories or their ties.

Agreed. The two separate entities are not related and shouldn't be treated as such.

Every so often, I get this positive feeling that humanity can somehow, possibly attain pure awesomeness, and enlightenment, and that there is light at the end of the road for us all. However, I only need to go to the latest HUD thread at RenForums to remind me of how dumb I was for thinking such stupid things.

On the directors not agreeing, if you have 5 people who have to vote, there will always be a majority.

The only people who should have their PM permissions removed is any person who tried to post information originally posted in n00bstories' private forums.

As I do not issue these restrictions, the theory may be different from reality. Do not shoot me for this

Why just n00bstories?

The same should be true for anyone that posts things from any communities private forums.

Because it only happened to NS so far. But yes, the same would happen with people from other communities (see rules)...
