Hello people, I have an issue and it has been addressed on the forum but i did not not really understand how to fix it.
I am trying to install renegade on windows vista and have tried running compatabilty mode for 98 and xp and run as admin but i get the same error no matter what. Its when you have to choose the folder used for install and you get the stupid "make sure the syntax is correct" error. Please help me with this using a step by step if possible please. Thank you very much. Big Grin Big Grin

Did you try creating the folder manually before running install?

Yes i did, C:\Westwood\Renegade, i tried typing that in but still same error message.

C:\Westwood\Renegade\


XP Compat and admin mode on for setup.exe on the CD ROM.

Does that do it?

No I am afraid it does not, tried that, i have no idea what to do. do i need to turn uac off or does that not make a difference.

UAC on --> admin mode means it may as well be off.

UAC off --> admin mode not available, as everything is in admin mode (This is a generalisation, might not be technically correct)

Are you using a legal CD? Are you using TFD?

Is it a DVD with "The First Decade" on it, or a CD with "C&C Renegade" on it?

You are installing the same disk as Windows, right? It shouldn't matter but u never know...

I mean: if windows is installed on c:\windows , then are you also installing renegade on c:\westwood\ ?
