Posts in the spam forum need to be comprehensible (for people with an average IQ of 90)[ 50 votes ]
1. Yes, I'd like you to enforce this rule 15 / 30%
2. No, every random post needs to be allowed in spam fest 22 / 44%
3. Get rid of the spam forum 13 / 26%

We've seen the stupidiest things in the spam forum. Some posts in the spam forum make sense and are even (remotely) funny at times. However, some people just post random letters.

So here's a poll: do you desire a minimum standard of spam in the spam forum? The rule would be simple: the posts in spam need to be at least comprehensible for people with an average IQ of 90 (I know this doesn't cover everyone present on these forums, but it should be low enough for most of us).

Edit: remade with 3rd option.

Viva la Resistance!
I've got no problem with 'spam' topics that can be discussed (or well, just have pictures posted about) as long as it isn't completely random characters that don't make sense.

This is a signature. Reading this is wasting your time.

Spam forum is great for jokes and stories about things that make us laugh - nothing serious, nothing really to do with Renegade, and doesn't break rules.
But when a spam topic is composed of random pictures or text that is absolutely meaningless to all but the thread creator (and perhaps not even they), then it's pointless and worthless.
I agree we should have a minimum rule where the spam at least has to have some sort of sense to it.

I concur.

Well, it's not like anyone goes there...I don't even go there most of the time...and the spam threads are wiped out once every couple months anyway. So it's really doesn't matter.

I voted to remove it. The goal was to keep the spam out of the other forums but it doesn't appear to have helped much. But, I'll do whatever the majority would like to do.

I'm the bawss.

I'm gonna say option one: keep comprehensible threads and posts in case someone just wants to post something funny. Anything incomprehensible should be removed because they waste people's time Thumbs Up

Either delete it or give me an option to hide it from the forum index, it's a useless waste of space.

I don't visit it much so I don't really care whether it stays or disappears but if it stays it should be possible to post all kind of spam.

It's a spam forum for a reason Razz

Its def a waste of space, but the poll kind of misrepresents public opinion by splitting the votes of the non-spam forum voters.

I don't think it should be 'conversation worthy,' but rather just 'understandable.'

For example:

A thread in which the original poster types simply "Pie!" should be allowed.

However, a thread in which the original poster types 3,000 lines of "oagadgiuangergnregneiguenhagnedgienrgaieougnaeroig" shouldn't.

That also goes for single repetitive sentences/words. Like saying "Pie" 40,000 times in one post.

There is spam, then there is spam. The ladder is just annoying and consumes too many resources.

I know, this will be taken in account of course.

One reason for me to get rid of the spam section is that moderators are still forced to read it as any of the non spam related rules still apply in there! In the past, some people were banned because of this.

No censorship please. If it was designed for anything goes, let it be. Its still useful for things like testing BB/html code etc. It is in my opinion a waste of hosting but its Crimsons forums and im sure it doesn't take up that much so shes fine with it.
