First, let me make it clear that this plea has come from myself, and has in no way come from anyone at black-cell, infact they have no idea or clue that I was going to make this thread.
I would like to ask/beg that someone gives Whitedragon one of the top a00 host names for there server.
They've recently been donated a server and have Dragonade (the name that they gave there server-side modification) back up and running. The only problem is that unless some regulars join for a long time there is little activity there, which is more then just a shame, it's an injustice.
black-cell created the first server-side mod for renegade. Whilst others dithered trying to figure out the level edit tool, they already started making what we now know as the renegade API and had started making changes to there server.
They shared this work with BlackHandStudios and they also released the first public version of SSAOW.
With continuining effort (there only motivation being the betterment of the renegade community) they release what nearly all renegade servers run today, SSGM2.02.
Even if the server you played in didn't run SSGM2.02, then it is unlikely that without the releases and the work of black-cell that it could exist at all.
Most of the mods you see today have been based on either black-cell's source code, or there idea's. You can think of black-cell as being the mother of it all.
Alas, they are a victim of there own kindness. They used to have a healthy player base, but with so many servers being able to compete with them and rival there own mods, and later with a smaller player base in general coupled with there server being listed far down on the WOL listings, the server has become a shell of what it once was.
I love that server and long for it to flourish again. With an a00 host name it would.
I believe there is no group more deserving then them.
Please, if you're in a position to let black-cell use a very good a00 host name, then do so.
If you know someone who has one spare, then beat them, beg them, bribe them or black-mail them into giving it to Whitedragon.
Perhaps you have more then one server with one of these host names, I know it's a big ask, but please consider dropping one of the other servers.
I realise it's a cheeky thing to ask, but please consider it.

I did consider this, however I was hoping for more exposure. It's possible, however unlikely, that someone may know someone with one spare or that might be willing to let BC use it that isn't a server owner.

I PM'd for access a very long time ago and never got so much as a reply back... I could of course always ask around but I don't really like to hassle people with unimportant things.

That's nice of you man, hopefully you'll be able to come through with something that can help them. Would be very nice if you did! 
However, please don't let this deter anyone else coming forward for them, this offer is obviously not a certainty, and to be honest, if there is a better hostname available for them, that would be better.
I see that the Jelly servers have five servers listed right at the very top, it would be certainly very nice of them if they dropped one so that Black-cell could use it.
There also seems to be a host name that hasn't been used for a while, specifically a00000002. That would be a pretty nice hostname if anyone knows who it belongs to, or is able to get it for them.
I know this is cheeky to ask, but really the black-cell server deserves a place there, and they are too nice to ask themselves.

Ok, I've talked with Kamuix and he doesn't mind.
afaik we collectively have/use:
- A00000005 (traded to TSU afaik)
- A0000000P (Unused)
- A0000000Z
- A0000001 (Unused)
- A00000016
- A00000038 (Unused)
- KamBot
- KamBotDEV
So I figure BC can use A0000000P, just gotta wait for Nightma12 to reset the password (because we got it from TSU in a trade afaik).

bc is my favourite server, and dragonade must be the best modification this game has ever seen.

I own a few "specialty" nicks that go with my server only and then I have some a00* nicks..
a0001b
a0001c
a0001d
a0001e
a0001f
a0001g
I dunno if they could use them as they're not that high on the server listings...I use them for test servers and mod-servers (APB and Reborn).
Unfortunately, They're lower on the listings than Black-Cell's current nick (a0000001l? or something?)
EDIT: It doesn't matter about a00* nicks anymore though. Scripts 3.4.4 sorts (by default) by player count.

I don't think high hostnames matter as much as they used to, but they do still make a noticeable difference.
It's mostly the newbies who don't update their scripts that are attracted imo, the people who actually know what they're doing search for their favorite servers that they're familiar with.
Anyways, I better stop talking before I turn this into yet another topic that's been debated countless times

As far as I'm aware, that one belongs to n00bstories/Crimson.

That's pretty interesting, AFAIK it hasn't been used for a while now, and they only run one server. Black-cell could certainly do with thuse of it.

The thing is, at the moment that actually makes no difference...
Players that do not have 3.4.4 tend to join the server listed at the top, which is governed by the host name.
Players with scripts.dll 3.4.4 also tend to join the servers listed at the top, but because of the players without scripts.dll joining the a00 servers, those servers are STILL listed at the top.
And I'm pretty sure there are more players without 3.4.4 then there are with it.

Ah OK, thanks for the info, I might ask if they intend to use it or not I guess. If they dn't plan on opening another server any time soon, I'm sure BC would love to use it.
I sure havn't seen it used ina while, but then again, I'm not on that much these days.

I think it's fair BC gets a decent position. It's a bit less fair that this means that all others will be pushed down some more again... The fact Jelly doesn't use all of their nicks gives other servers an opportunity to get higher to the top.

You're right, BC being moved up would mean others move down by one, and that probably isn't fair to them.
It would be great to have a large player base back again, and servers maxed out how I used to remember them, but that isn't going to happen (well, not unless I win the Euro millions lottery and buy renegade from EA, release it as free to download and advertise it on television, radio and other media, and I swear I would actually do that...).
The thing is, we all know there are less and less players all the time, I honestly think black-cell deserves to be there all the way till the end. All those other servers that would be pushed down do owe black-cell in one way or another, whether it makes it right or not that they get pushed down I don't know.
