Yeah not getting a mid case, too small.

Am thinking of this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043

or a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160

But still looking, not in a rush.

antec for sure Wink
but look out when you buy a power supply, be sure the cables are long enough because with Antec, the mobo is high up and the power supply is located at the bottom.

A piece of advice on the i7 series, if you go that route. Wait. Intel will release a number of bios instructions, NorthBrigde technolgies, and other related updates before i7 is considered stable. You would be missing out on a great deal of stability, and possibly moreso, performance. On another note, don't spend money on a motherboard that is worthless because you're antsy to get your hands on new technology. There is a fine line between a mistake, and plain stupidity. You can easily make yourself a computer to last you several years, and "futureproof" (if there is such a thing..), regardless of the time of purchase of these components in the long run.

With that kind of money i'd definetely add some kind of Solid state disk drive like the Intel X25-e Razz but it's a bit pricey though (32gb/600 dollars).

Hmm, might look into SSD's, technology is kinda new there still, so quite happy with good old hhds.

Need to find a good 30 inch flatscreen as well.

Still looking for a LG Blue-Ray burner, anyone have any ideas or can recommend a better DVD burner?

Wish I could decide on what motherboard, but am still finding it hard to choose which one and there is a new set of boards X58 boards coming soon. :/

Get the 3x2GB RAM. Something fast obviously. And the mobo should have 6 memory slots so you can double the amount of RAM at some point if you wish.

RIGHT, I have narrowed my choices down to these three, what do people think is best?

Remember, am having two ATI 4780 x2 GDDR5 GPU which are having water blocks installed on them, both demand x16 slots.

Also having a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional installed.

Going with the ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Thumbs Up

For RAM, I have decided to go with CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D x2

But I want their TR3X6G1866C9DF version which has 9-9-9-24 timing and a overhead fan unit, but can't find it anywhere, but I guess we ca OC the other RAM to that anyway.

Looking at hard drives now.

Going to use them soild state drives in a raid 0 setup, I have read reviews that they are so fast that you can click a game icon and the game starts right then and now in less the a second.

But do you have to have the games installed on the same drives?

Update

Still need to order a few parts, kvm switchs, power protection, mod cables, few odd bits and am thinking of adding a second monitor for dual screens.

Just need to work out how to cool it now, I was going to go with water cooling, but then I heard about phase charging or vapor cooling which is basicly a freeze for your computer, only problem, it only supported CPU's but I have found someone over at http://www.dangerden.com/ who has a contact with a guy who can make a tri-head head for phase changing (vapor cooling) this means, there be a cooling hoses for the CPU and the two Graphic Power Units, this cooling system can lower temps to -65C to -35C.

This new PC is a big upgrade from my old 2.1 GH, 1 GB, 7600 GS PC, gonna rock. Razz

Big thank you to my GF, I love her to bits. In Love

Ah, am going for phase cooling now. Very Happy

UPDATE:

Found a guy and now talking to him through email about him building custom phase cooling parts to phase cool the LGA 1366 CPU and two 4870 x2 Graphic Cards.

I'll take it you've already ordered the GFX cards, but in case you haven't, ATI is price dropping it's 4870's; maybe the X2's might see a drop too if you still want to save a couple bucks.

Plus, Techspot has a huge article/test on DDR3 Dual Channel memory for Core i7, and whether the speeds/extra gigs or RAM are worth it.

Is that some infinite disposable income I hear?

http://www.infamousplatforms.com/

They're a division of M&A, a company which makes supercomputers for all sorts of fancy things.

Just tried to build my own and maxed everything out. Price was above 10,000. I'm sure if you want to go even higher you could scrap the idea of a "monitor" and use a high-quality projector, although that's assuming you have the wall to use it. In addition, I hear that you can get your keyboard/mouse plated with chrome, just for extra shinyness.

Nope, not ordered them yet, be sometime this week or at the weekend.

I have heard of http://www.infamousplatforms.com but prefer to build my own, haven't worked out the cost of this, but am guessing it is over 4k (GPB) now, maybe 5k (GPU)

Update:

The guy is going to build me a custom phase cooler for my case that will cool the CPU and the two VGU's.

His website which I recommend: http://www.nexgenoverclocking.com/

I also highly recommend: http://www.dangerden.com/ and DarthBeavis for giving me his contact.
