CPU POwer Save Mode & Renegade

While playing Renegade (which most of all needs enought CPU power for a good FPS), which Intel-CPU power save mode do you use: EIST, C1E, both or none?

And do you have problems with that?

Your CPUs power saving mode should not be active while the CPU is active, so I don't see how it makes a difference when your actually playing Renegade.

Anyway, I set my CPUs minimum frequency when idle to 1% through Vista's power management options and it's never caused me any problems.

well, the power save mode of cpu can also be active ingame.

because, not all the time ingame there is hectic activity, so of course sometimes the CPU can be slowed down by the settings.

there are a lot of discussion treads all over the net, that this causes problems with games.

I have never experienced any problems with it, even playing games like Supreme Commander which are very heavy on the CPU.

Even if the CPU idle power saving does kick in it it can throttle back up to 100% almost instantly if the extra power is required.
