Everybody knows when you open the infamous Renegade you get the Spinning wheel I want to make that Spinnging Wheel my backround desktop. Can anybody just remove the menu options and leave only the E.V.A. spinning with the Yellow circly line next to it and the MOST IMPORTANT PART the Spinning Wheel. Me and Xylaquin were working on how to do it but aparently he doesen't know shit how to edit Renegades menu options. Well Xylaquin I made a topic, maybe Renegade ancient player/fans will be able to do it.

It isn't a spinning wheel, it is a spinning nuclear power symbol.

Do you at least know how to remove the Renegade menu options so that only the E.V.A. and the Spnning Wheel can be left for me to record and make as my backround. I belive that it has something to do with the Registry editor and the keys for Renegade because that I do remember that you can edit something in the Registry editor to make make Renegade not ask you if you want to quit to desktop that can probably work.

What operating system do you have?

At the moment, the only Operating system (I know of) that supports full-motion desktop backgrounds is Vista. (Vista Ultimate, actually).

Using a Vista only program called Dreamscene.

You can mimic this effect for Windows XP, but it requires the media player VLC and its "Set video as wallpaper" function.

Alternatively, you can take a bunch of screen shots of the Nuclear symbol in motion and compile them into a gif image... then set that as your background.

I have Windows X.P. I spit on Vista I don't like it at all. Anyways I have a good computer and I don't mind the power that the backround would take.

Animated GIF files work as animated backgrounds on XP.
Notice the spinny thing on the left of the main menu sometimes has a large orange part that spins slower than normal when you start the game.

If you're using Vista Ultimate, then 'fraps' the Animation while chilling in the main menu. Then convert it into a compressed format and watch it via the Dreamscene plugin (it'll get stretched to fullscreen).

I know how to record it, my friend can just get me the full version of F.R.A.P.S. if anybody needs it just P.M. me. But recording it is not the problem!!!!!!!!! >:( The problem is removing the options in the menu like Single Player Multi Player things like that. If you click on single player you will see the whole menu dissapear for a second or two before it comes back but I want to know how to make the menu optons go away therefore in that way I would be able to record it.

Windows XP actually works with GIF animation backgrounds. However, it was extremely laggy when I last tried, and it just really wasn't worth it.

What he's saying is, does anybody know how to remove the menu options for more than 2 seconds so he can record the spinning wheel in FRAPs.

You don't want a animated background, it lags your computer like crazy.

If you want an animated background, just make a HTML page with a flash animation inside and set that as your background.

Use this link as a guide: http://www.wikihow.com/Set-a-Website-as-Your-Desktop-Background-in-Windows
(works for XP, use http://mpj.tomaatnet.nl/vista/avedesktopsites.html if you have Vista)

Of course, the problem of how to capture the logo remains...

flash animations can be created from video files? FRAPS the menu, then import that video into some program to make a flash anim and hey presto. Still laggy though, only worth it if you've an overpowered computer.
