Google's new browser has finally been released for beta testing. I urge you guys to try it out. It's pretty neat.

http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/

This comic book details the most important features and aspects of Chrome.

Once you've read that, get it here if you'd like:

http://www.google.com/chrome

I really am liking Chrome so far. It's extremely quick. One of the most shocking things is just how fast it can go from not even running to ready to surf the internet.

Let the browser flaming begin!

Damnit man u beat to to making this thread.

Anyway, yes, great browser I agree. I downloaded it at my work and even told the other IT guys about it.

EDIT: I love the tabbed processes. It sucks when all your webpages shuts down if one of the web pages you are viewing has a problem. That's doesn't happen in Chrome. And I love the Task Manager.

I like it a lot(I'm using it right now to post this) for it's speed but I find it is missing a lot of good features from FireFox and I can't figure out how you add new buttons to the toolbar Rocked Over

* I like that it opens swiftly and operates smoothly
* I like that it loads web pages much more efficiently
* I like that it doesn't have stupid/extra/useless/bloated crap to take up my screen or web viewing space, or to slow it down.

So far, thumbs up. Color scheme/appearance and other features aren't half bad either.

When we say faster I think it means that the application as a whole runs faster and loads faster and is unrelated to the internet connection.

Also, I think it needs a page zoom function and not just text zooming...

It needs the ability to add more buttons to the toolbar, unless that part is hidden away somewhere?

Eww. I don't understand why people like toolbars and buttons to take up your viewing space. Its quite unneeded to be honest. In reference to the post above yours, yeah its much faster in the UI aspect, but the rendering engine seems far superior than that of Firefox's.

Well imo it would be better to have a bookmarks button instead of a bookmarks bar...

PS. 1111 Post ftw

It will be interesting to see if this can make any dent in the Internet Explorer market share given that its got the marketing push of one of the few internet companies that the "clueless users" (those who think IE = the internet) have actually heard of.

It just needs google to use their marketing muscle to push it to these people.

If nothing else, it should spur Microsoft into working even harder on IE (one thing Microsoft doesn't like is to be beaten by Google)

I guess we'll find out when IE9 comes out, heh. I don't think they would push for drastic changes in IE8 to be honest.

I am using it for the mere fact that I remember Doitle refusing to change from IE6 because there was little need for him, and other then the tabbed browsing he saw no advantage.
So for him to be recommending another browser, it has to be worth at least looking at. Infact I am using it now Smile

RSS feeds google?

Ok, I'll elaborate:
It's lightning fast, but:
RSS feeds don't work. Sad
Clicking my scroll wheel (counts as a third, middle, mouse button) doesn't produce a scrolling thing like it does in firefox (just a complaint about me being used to it I suppose, it acts like a shortcut to the scroll bar, I can't remember the last time I scrolled with the scroll bar rofl)

I still can't get over how fast it is. Surprised

My thoughts about it exactly.

Although I miss some of my Firefox features, I don't miss the occasional delay while loading pages on certain sites.
I've also noticed that (at least on my computer) it tends to focus more on my secondary core rather than my primary one. Rocked Over
