Cant Install renegade [message #349003]

Recruit

So here's my problem.i put in the first disc and it asks to install so i enter the cd key and it begins installing and it completes the install but never asks for the data disc and when i click finsih and go to play it gives me a meesages saying it has stopped working and will notify when a solution is available. ive tried countless time uninstalling and reinstalling but still it never asks for the second disc and gives me the same error message.and i do have windows vista sp1 and ive tried running as admin but still the same error.can anyone help me figure this out? thank you

* run game.exe, game2.exe (if you have renguard) and wwconfig.exe in admin mode and Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode

* if that doesn't work, try downloading the tool in the 4th post in this topic: http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&th=29912&start=0&rid=4 882

* if that doesn't work, try using RR

Installing went OK, I think. Just install this after install finishes and try to run it.

and RR gives me rooms to choose from but when i try to join it gives me the same message from before

Okay so I was unable to use my disk, but I found a copy on teh interwebz and it works fine.. sorta.

I am running into the exact same problem as the OP. It installs only from the Game Disk, and it properly modifies the Registry and such.

However since it takes nothing off of the Data Disk I cannot play. When I load up it is a black screen. Reinstalled 9.0c so DX is not the problem here. It is just there is nothing to read.

Basically I need a fix for either the installer not using the Data disk or a way to manually install the Data disk. Not sure what all I would need to copy, but I don't think the file structure is intact inside the packages that are on the Data Disk so I would have no idea where stuff goes if I unpacked it.

Core patch 2 (see stickies) comes with a no cd crack (hit cancel when it prompts for a disk).

Usually black screen appears when u had a scripts 3.x version and installed a scripts 2.x version above it. You may want to first try reinstalling scripts 3.x.

BTW: there's nothing to read from the data disc but the single player video's anyway.

I think Renguard might have done that. Cause it did the Core Patch update after I did...
