I dont think theres a rule on asking this so im go right ahead
How can i hide my ip completely? when i surf the web or download using P2P software and etc i want my ip hidden from EVERYTHING internet related

i googled and i find a few programs that cost that can hide your ip from web and such but nothing really explains if it can hide it from everything not just the web does anyone know a way? or a program that can do it all? (and before troop makes a comment this is not for ren)

Just fyi, SSnipe is a known renegade cheater, giving him any kind of program for him to change/proxy his real IP will mean he can evade his current bans for cheating in public servers.

There's a nifty program called 'PeerGuardian' which doesn't exactly hide your IP, but it blocks other IP's. For example, if you are filesharing, you could end up downloading from IP's that are actually companies, and organizations that don't want you to fileshare, but PeerGuardian helps prevent (not totally stop) this from happening. You can also have it block IP's from governments, and companies that distribute spyware, and malware. However, it is not a Firewall.

If you are filesharing, I'd recommend it. I don't fileshare, but after trying it out, and seeing that it keeps out connections from universities from China, and institutions from Saudi Arabia, among others, I feel it's a good tool to have running.

You'll have to spend some time configuring, and playing around with the program to truly get the hang of it. It's also in beta, so it is prone to glitches, but I haven't had many problems with it at all. Also, depending on what lists of IP's you download, you can end up blocking, or slowing down your favorite sites, including YouTube. You can allow them back, but it takes some time to do it correctly... so make sure you know what you're doing in the first place.

What you ask doesn't exist. You can use the TOR network to come very close to what you want but only for surfing the web and it'll slow you down a lot. It doesn't exist for p2p.

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

Just fyi, programs like HideIP Don't work on servers since your directly connecting to the server instead of tricking a website.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

There are very few ways if any to hide your ip address from a server since the ip address is used to send the data back to you.

Imagine trying to send data to a server but a server doesn't know where to send the data after? Lets just place it in the *nix /dev/null

You -> Server -> Huh? No Return Address. /dev/null

However that being said you can use a proxy to hide your identify to a certain extent, being the proxy server knows your ip address but uses the proxys ip address to return the requested data. For a world trip it would look like this:

You -> Proxy -> Server -> Proxy -> You

However adding proxies can seriously slow down your internet capabilities since quite a few proxies are on slow connections.

Don't bother trying with Renegade, without serious TCP/IP knowledge you won't be able to redirect the direct connection made with the game server through hidden connections. Sad netstat -b doesn't work for instance.

Let all your wishes be granted except one, so you will still have something to strieve for.

You need to know a few things about what IPs are. First of all, most ISPs rent IP addresses out to all of its customers. These IPs have a set expiration date.

So they rent out an IP to you, and by XXX amount of time, they recall it and then they give you either the same one back (renew it) or they give you a new one to use.

By knowing that alone, the only possible way that someone could find your address and location from an IP address is if someone could hack into your ISP's database, decode their files, and link your current IP to one in their computers.

No one cares enough to do that to some stranger over the internet.

Renegade uses UDP... (For the actual game data that is)

SSnipe, what you're asking is basically to start a mail conversation without telling them your address. You can send a message to some address (his IP), but how is he supposed where to send it back? That's why you tell him about your own address (IP), so that he can communicate with you.

It is actually possible to send a message with a fake ip, you'll just never get the response because the other side will not be able to reply to your message.
