Filezilla. You'll need to make sure the right port is open on your router as well.

I haven't needed to do that.
Wait, are you looking for an FTP client like above, or to run an FTP server? It's a bit unclear what you want to do.

Filezilla has a server and client part. You can access the filezilla serevr by iexplorer but you'll need a username and pass.

If you want to become an IT tech one day, you will really need to learn to read about things. Check wikipedia for FTP or something like that, check tutorials on how to use filezilla, ...

FTP is similar to HTTP. They are both different ways of transferring information.
When you go to a page like FTP://ftp.mysite.com you are actually connecting to the FTP server from a web browser. The server process is always running. How you connect is the only thing that changes. You can connect with a client program or internet explorer.

FTP isn't secure , not that it matters for your purpose I guess.
But if you want something secure go with SFTP.
Besides it's pretty fun to find out how these kinds of programs work and it will teach you the basic's of portforwarding

Personally I use Serv-U. A lot of people swear by RaidenFTPD. If you want an overview of a bunch of them, head to tucows (which strangely enough seems to be down right at the time of this post), they have a whole section on ftp servers.
