Hello Again Team...I have installed Ren on vista....Gave it the update...Installed 1.037....Thats where I stayed for now to see what happens...I have put gameexe. and wwconfig in admin mode plus xp compatability.....

Now when I choose the advanced game listing..it tests bandwith...perfect...takes me to the log in screeen ok...I put a name and password and it goes to connecting to westwood mode like normal...But it does not connect..i get the UNABLE TO CONNECT TO Server....Operation timed out...message...

SO, does this have to do that I need to install CP1 and CP2 also....does it have anything to do with the log in name I am putting down....I gave it authorization in my firewall to always run....Any tips ....all tips greatly appreciated I will try everything you recommenc team...thanks....donqj

The CPs are optional really you don't have to have them to make the game work they do speed it up and add some features though, try turning off all your firewalls completely and then try it.

Try this: Download the XCC WOL SERVER Connection Tool ( http://strike-team.net/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&f ile=index&req=viewdownload&cid=1) and run it. Click "Set (XWIS)", close the program, and try connecting again.

Imo this does not seem to be the computer's fault at all it's either a firewall blocking it or something is wrong with your isp.

Sounds like a firewall problem to me (for the Renegade related problem).

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

2 problems found, Norton AV and vista, solution: uninstall Norton AV and install AVG and uninstall Vista and install XP Razz

AVG is a really cool FREE anti-virus that updates frequently, and actually uninstalls itself on request (unlike Norton) - it also actually detects Viruses (Unlike Norton), correctly identifies safe files (Unlike Norton), and doesn't give you errors like the one in the picture (Unlike Norton)

World's best advert ever, TBH.
