pretty much as it says in the title, i think one of the updates that i got was a vista sp1 for my 64bit vista home premium.
now every time i load renegade it gives me the loading screen and then it says "renegade has stopped working,
a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
it does this regardless if i have rg or not, i reninstalled renegade from scratch and it still does this. would reinstalling westwood online components do anything?
or is my only option to fixing this, is to remove all the updates or roll it back to like 2 months ago? (thats approximately the time when it stopped working) i just havent had time to look into it untill this weekend.
but then it will mean i cant get sp1 or my renegade will stop working?? does anyone else on this forum have vista 64bit and applied sp1 with no errors?
please help.
i have also tried to right click the shortcut button and selceting it to run in windows xp sp2 compatibility mode... to no effect.
for some reason "run as administrator" is grey and i cant click it, but i am the only user on this pc and i have admin rights so im not sure if it can affect it or not.

so what was your exact steps. complete format using vista cd im assuming, then reinstall... then all the updates then antivirus w/e only after that you went to games right?
will have to try that this week or weekend... thing i like about vista was that it installs really fast compared to xp that took almost 3 hours before you are actually moving onto updates.
well it does seem to be the only option that i havent tried yet.
if there are any other ways to do this post them asap since otherwise i am probably going to format in the next few days.

how do i get one? or is it saved somewhere automatically, and i just need to find it?
question, could it be because of the ren cd being scratched up?
what i mean is yesterday i tried to run it again after installing yet another update (was hoping that this one might fix whatever the previous one might have screwed up) and the game told me to put the cd in, since at the time i did not have one in the drive. after putting the gamedisc in it crashed again.

well i bought this copy of ren off ebay, and its not the final decade so i assumed it didnt have the patch applied.
yeah i figured there isnt much info that this report can provide you with, its probably all coded info so that only microsoft could interprit it

i installed resurrection and when i ran it said it does not know what version of renegade i have... but i told it to contionue anyways.
now it crashed the same exact way as before but i dont have a debug forlder in my renegade.
i only have 4 folders in there:
data, de, html, resurrection.

this is weird, i have applied the 1.037 patch. i can run it through the resurrection mod you gave me, and if i choose run renegade resurrection then it gets me in the game. but if i choose to run just renegade in the resurrection menu it crashes just like before.
and again no folder called debug...

alright since now it only works thanks to resurrection, can i have renip work through resurrection?
or am i forced to use wol only?
is it as simple as changing the exe file that renip looks for?
im just at work and havent tried that idea yet...

just so you know, i have had no other issues since installing sp1 except for this one.
which has now been resolved with the help of Yrr.
btw forgot to say, thanks for the help!
renip works now, and all is well.
