quite often lately when I close rene the screen will go black( as it does b4 closing). The it will just freeze on that image, occasionally it might go away after a couple of minutes.

The only way to get the screen to unfreeze is restarting my comp.

Any advice?

p.s have tried reinstalling rene.

Common renegade problem in my opinion might not be a problem on higher end systems though.

As for advice, you could always minimize and end the process with task manager or just close RG which will close renegade.

no, you don't understand the screen completly freezes, everything keep running but the screen stays black.

It is as if comp thinks games has successfully shut down. I can switch to different programs, mute music etc but can't do anything by using mouse as I can not see anything...

Seems like a GFX problem. Do you use scripts 3? If yes, did you try going back to scripts 2.9.2?

Try updating your drivers, it seems to happen less with the latest ones.

I get the same problem with my GF7600GS over here...it usually occurs if I quit Renegade through the menu right after alt-tabbing back into it.

I can completly avoid the problem by quitting via task manager but when using gsa its so much simpler to just hit quit( especially with one click quit on).

Maybe it's the one hit click CAUSING the problem in the first place?
