That is a load of crap to be honest.

How the hell can you prove you wrote it youself in the first place if its not registered?

Say i Wrote a story and didnt copyright it then someone else copied it then regestered it copyright, I wouldnt have a leg to stand on as there would be no proof that I wrote it first.

Besides that in the US, me and Carbon-kid are in the UK so those laws dont apply.

When copyright occurs
Copyright arises whenever an individual or company creates a work: A work is subject to copyright if it is regarded as original, and must exhibit a degree of labour, skill or judgement.
Interpretation is related to the independent creation rather than the idea behind the creation. For example, copyright will not exist in names, colours or ideas, but will exist in a work composed of these elements. In short, copyright may protect a work that expresses an idea but not the idea behind it.

Uk Copyright Laws appear to be quite similar to American Copyright Laws. A person owns the copyrights to his work when he creates it. But to go to court over copyrights it needs to be registered.

(And, by American Copyright Laws, you can register your work up to 5 years after it was created.)

Under the terms of the Berne Convention, authors are protected internationally under the terms of the law in their home country, as well as by any additional rights granted the convention.

(If the work was created in America, or by an American than it is subjected to American Copyright Laws. If the work was created in UK or by someone living in the UK than it is subjected to UK copyright laws.)
