I all ways fix my neighbors many PCs but this is a new one for me, I need to open thier laptop. Does anyone know a website that could that could help me out?

I repair and build PC's however I don't really mess with laptops, there too fragile. Also when I did fix one I had 10 extra screws when I put it back topgether. I can't think of a website that is about laptop deconstruction. Unlike a PC laptops have specilist components and are not as modular as PC's. However if you do take it apart I reccommend writing down where everything goes so you can remember.
Here is a hint, most laptops come apart by removing the keyboard. There should be a cover around the keyboard that unclips and has screws under it. After you have removed the keyboard you have access top the motherboard top and connection.
On the btoom you may or may not see some screws that hold in the CDROM and Floppy Disk. Removing the scews should allow you to slide these components out of the base unit by pusing them.
On the bottem there should be a cover. Under the cover is the CPU and memory slots. The CPU is normally encased in a heatsink so you will see the top of the heatsink. There should be a memory slot that may be in use or not depending on if the ram is expanded from what it came with.
Fnally there may also be another cover that you can remove to access the hard drive by removing the two scews and pulling the drive foward. Be VERY careful as if you pull it too hard and it hits the case you may damage it. the 2.5" laptop drives are very fragile in terms of data damage.
After you have removed these components you can then gain better acces to the motherbord and other components suchas modem and graphics. It will aslo allow you access to the powe and monitor connections if there faulty.

Due to the fact that most laptops have different designs, run a web search on the particular model.
Generally, laptops used to open from the keyboard, but that is not true for many models (e.g. newer HP, Compaq models and others).
Even within a manufacturer, different models open differently, and due to the design of the systems, you have to be careful about certain fragile wiring, connectors, etc. - that's why you should research the model online to see what people have done with it. If you're lucky, someone may have written a tutorial on how to fully open it up and swap out specific components.

Well you see, its an Apple PowerBook 5300c and the power pin in the back has moved to the back and to the side into the laptop making it impossible to plug it in. I did some research this morning with no luck, ill try agian.

Autoparts store, i.e. Pep Boys. Also if you have access to Sears they sell them.
Thankfully the IBM I Rebuilt used phillips head screws.

I've done that before. It was a 2.5" 10GB laptop drive. I dropped it from only a metre and it landed onto carpet but the drive had around 30% of it bad sectors and corrupt the windows installation and random other files on the drive.
