I'm not exactly what the term is, but by Life shows I mean shows that mimic real life. For example, Rescue Me, The Shield, Nip Tuck...

What are your favorites? I'm currently watching Rescue Me, and I'd like a few more suggestions.

Sopranos. Easily one of the best shows TV will ever produce. Just rent the DVD seasons, get a good TV and chair, and witness awesomeness.

I have also heard great things about Deadwood, and Six Feet Under, which are also HBO shows, but unfortunately, Canadians can't get HBO.

Does House count? It's one of the few series I've actually had time for recently.

ER is easily my favorite (and a surprising amount of the medical tech is accurate if not the story lines where there are always major disasters happening 24/7)

omg sopranos makes me yawn at first sight, I can't understand how people can like that.

I liked only the first season of six feet under, was a fun show, but then became "the usual tv show".

Greys Anatomy is much better than ER actually, or at least I think so Razz

Heroes is ok, but not exactly mimicking real life tbh, I don't see many people flying around and stuff.

Some good British ones are My Family and Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps (Although there are no new series being made for that). Both are on BBC 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 etc, and often on UKTV Gold.

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

House is pretty good, I've always seen the Sopranos, and I'm almost done with season 1 of Rescue Me.

Does anyone know if Nip Tuck is any good?

If you want to watch foreign TV, I suggest "Trailer Park Boys" . It's filled with swearing, and mayhem, and it's partially funded by the Government of Canada! Mr. Green

The first two seasons are a bit dull, but after you watch those, the fun begins on season three, all the way to season six. It's filmed as a 'mockumentary' with jerky camera's, etc.

Hilarious.

Thats not really a ''Life'' show, its more of a commedy.

What I mean by ''Life'' shows are pretty much, ''FX Dramas''. The stuff with exorbitant amounts of gore, bloodshed, sex, and drug use. You know, the good stuff Very Happy
