HELP ME!!!! i have first decade and have not patched it i'm running vista and when i click on westwood online it says that my version is incompatible i need help urgently and any help would be appreciated

He has The First Decade, meaning he doesn't need to patch Renegade. Anyway, use the search function, I'm sure there are several other threads on this.

if he did patch it that would mean he would have to reinstall it I would try that anyways.

First Decade does have two official patchs that need to be installed.

To get online, in the login screen, type in whatever name you want and password and click login, if that name is not taken, you will see a full server list, if not, it be empty.

If you get that error again, you might have to re-install it.

that wasnt the problem it wont even let me get that far cos it (as i already said) says that online components are incompatible and i need to get new ones lol so this is the actual problem

Reinstall it, the online components should work no matter what if reinstalled properly. Otherwise, you might want to check if your firewall is blocking you, or if you even have internet on that PC.

Hmhmh, in normal ren, you would just have to reinstall westwood online components using the CD, thro TFD, which I also recently bought/installed, not sure how its done, several topics have been made about it, look around. Tell Me

ohh same prob with me.well what i did was download fds from www.game-maps.net it comes with the westwood components.i use those and they work so get it!!!

I read a load of bullshit replies in here because people don't read the question.

The only reason I know for the WOL components not working in the first decade is because of the TFD patches but u said u didn't install those (as precised in the FAQ sticky in the renegade client subforum).

You can ry reinstalling TFD in a diffeent direcory and hope for the best :-S.

Renegade FDS is "Renegade Free Dedicaded Server" which you could download it from here so you need fds to able to go to westwood online because renegade fds has the leatest westwood online things so you need fds
i will be glad to help you with it tell me if u need help i have alot of time to help Smile

slightly unrelated but i fixed the first problem and now it wont let me fill in my details on the menu thingy but i can play straight off comrade but only one game and that game sucks. what do i do

right basically there are games but they are all random and i have no choice but to use comrade because it wont let me sign in directly through renegade. i fill in my details and the login button doesnt work. and the only button up is new account and that doesnt work either
