Anyone else have this problem?

The forums have been hacked... more than once. Of course, that was when we were running crappy phpBB. Now we're on a rock solid BB software written by someone who literally wrote a book on PHP security.

You won't think I'm paranoid when something happens and we lose like 3 hours of posts.

Security is good but the fact you backup your complete database each time, will become impossible.

It already takes 10-15 minutes now and the database is only getting bigger. Incremental is the way to go, you should start working on that now before your backup time becomes like half an hour :-s.

Unless the file is like 20GB it shouldn't take so long to backup. If I try and access the site on the hour sometimes I have to wait 10 minutes. I'm not lying, sometimes the page wont load until my system clock is at XX:09. If I close the IE/FF window and open another I still have to wait.

If it's backup time, go elsewhere, it doesn't help that you're all trying to do something with the database when it's trying to backup.

For this server, it's at 1am, 7am, 1pm, 7pm server time, which is Central time zone in the US.

Um, I think I've found the problem, but fixing it is taking FOREVER. (Which is another indication that it IS probably the problem)

So, I'm going to work at it incrementally and try to improve things, but I'm out of town and I'm about to leave to go to the airport so I had to get things back up and running before I left so it will have to wait.
