Because they concentrate too much on having a Universal Entertainment System rather than a gaming console. They have so much stuff that you don't need on a Video game console that they have anyway. (Hence those images for PS3Grill)
I mean, sure, such a product that gives you so many abilities is a good thing... HOWEVER we are not talking about the product that can give you the most... we are talking about Video Gaming Consoles.
Tell me, why does a video game console need a bluray disk drive? A disk drive that supports disks that are so high above standards that they won't be massively used until 2010 :\
Now, Sony makes a good ~entertainment hub system~ however, when it comes to the gaming portion of it, however it is geared towards that, tends to fall short of the other consoles. The only real reason that when I hear PS3 that makes me think about getting it, is the graphics... but honestly, I don't buy things because of graphics.
Also, the thing you quoted, I said they make the "Worst" gaming consoles. I didn't say they make bad gaming consoles. Worst of the 3, not bad.
Now let me move onto the 360 before you reply to me with "The 360 has media abilities too"
The 360 may have these abilities too, but it makes up for it in it's gaming portion. LIVE is an example of this.

But that's the thing, I bought a PS2 because it could play DVD's, CD's, and games, all in the comfort of my bedroom.
Blueray disks are for people who have High-Def tv's, And want full picture quality.
You get free Internet usage with the PS3, Unlike Microsoft, were they need to rob you of every last penny you have.
I'm not a fanboy here myself, I've been buying Nintendo products for 12+ years now, I've owned a Gameboy, a Snes, a Gamecube, and loved every last second of it, Then again, I've owned a PS1 and a PS2.
Having a universal media product isn't a bad thing, I mean, All that in something so small? I'd like to see anyone else pull that out of their ass, And it has some power.
As for "graphics", What makes "OMFG 1337 GRAFIXX" possible? A nice processor and ram, along side with a good graphics card, I've seen some game dev. interviews, and they're taking full advantage of the power behind the PS3, Advanced (And I mean advanced) AI, Real-time Physics (Pretty much like Crysis', even better if you ask me.) and whatnot, Graphics just come as a extra.
I'm getting sick of people saying "WAHH WAHH SONY ARE GAY WAHH WAHH", Because half of the time, people have no idea what business they do, and what customer they provide a service for.
Now let me move onto UT3, Did you know you can download custom mods for UT3, and play them on your console, as well as your pc?
I believe they're doing this with the Xbox, too, But uhh, Don't you have to pay to download extra content for a game, If you own a Xbox?, As far as I'm concerned, Sony aren't charging for such a service.
I'd love to argue all day about what console is better, But to be honest, The Wii and the PS3 are my choice, PS3 for the media, and a Wii for the old skool' times ( ) and innovation.
I'd buy a Xbox... In 2+ years.. After they manufacture a bunch of them and they are tested so they don't overheat and RROD after playing for 1+ hour, And maybe if the Live usage is free, too.
In the end, it comes down to personal choice.
Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

I clearly stated something so you wouldn't use it as your main point of argument, but you did it anyway.

To clarify that last quote: Just because something is the "worst" of something, doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad thing.
For example, there are 3 Plasma Screen TVs. Each have the exact same functions and features. Except each is of its own size. The largest TV would be considered the Best, correct? And the smallest would be the worst.
They are all good things to have and they all accomplish the same task, except the small one is just the worst of the 3. Get what I mean?

You said sony was horrible at making gaming consoles..
The PS3 might not be all that great for many reasons, including price, games, etc., but the PS1 and PS2 were pretty good consoles for their time imo. :\

A phone is meant to call people, a game system is meant to play games, both xbox360 and ps3 have video playback, music playback, and picture slideshow (does xbox have this, i forget). Both have similar features that many people dont use or need, another example is the wireless remotes, I sit 3 feet away from my little lcd tv, I use my ps3 like a gaming PC, standing up with a lcd by it. Why do i need wireless remotes when I'm sitting 3 feet away from my TV.
Really if you look at it, theres tons of crap we dont need to use just to play games. But really can you say the ps3/wii/360 suck when all 3 systems have similar games and some only on each system? It really depends on what type of games you like, if your into online gaming, a ps3/360 will do you, but if your more into adventure and single player games then go for wii, it's multiplayer is good, but not as good as the ps3's/360's.
