Well, thats not exactly true. You can't prove God is a delusion. In fact, I dare you to prove He is a delusion. The Bible was writen by many different authours over a course of a long period of time. It's highly unlikely the whole book is ficticious. But even if it is; the morals in the Bible are still good morals to live by.

I don't mean that I agree with all the morals in the Bible -- I even find some of the context to be questionable. Ezekiel's story, for example.

Some are based on true stories like "the big flood".
So they are adapted. All religion is based on the will for power.
Isn't it more easy to say to people "god has chosen me to rule over you all. My will is the will of god". Then "I am the king, obey me"

That's not Christianity at all. There is no single human who says "I am the messanger of the will of God, therefore obey me." is telling the truth.

TRUE Christianity would never allow a mere human being to be the messanger of the will of God because every human is fallable. Jesus was human, however, he was without sin (including the original sin) and therefore he and ONLY he is able to say "This is the will of God".

While that doesn't prove that God exists, it does prove that God is not a delusion. While stories such as the great flood actually DID happen, it's VERY liekly that God didn't tell Noah to build an arc before he smites the people in (where was it...) Turkey?

Contrary to what some say, the Pope does not have divine authority. Jesus Christ is the head of the church, not the Pope.

The pope makes decisions about the Religion only. He does not "rule" over us. If your a person that blindly follows people without reason, then yes he could, if he so chose, to "rule" over you. However most people aren't that stupid, and the pope would probably cause a rebellion if something like that were to ever happen.

To answer the first:

The Pope is a Catholic religious figurehead. Catholicism is not Christianity. There are severe differences between the two. One as such, is the sacrament of reconcilliation (or confession). Confession is administered by a priest in a closed setting where the individual cites off sins he or she has committed in hoped of being forgiven. This is a blasphamy in Christianity. Only the blood of Christ can redeem someone from sin (according to Christianity), not a mere human who preaches the word of God.

To answer the second: No. I haven't.

I do! I remember being confused about sexuality for a while and saw a few men as attractive - did I go out and assram them? Hell no...

You can say "well, you don't know what it's like to " but that doesn't change that people will think differently than you do. Of course, if you came into this thread expecting to see nothing but "OPEN YOUR ARMS TO ASSRAMMING!" then there's a problem - people are different. If you want to preach tolerance, then start showing it in everything you do, or don't bother saying it.

Yes, tolerating intolerance is part of tolerance, whether or not anyone agrees with it.

You open your mouth and blab about something the majority of the world dislikes, expect to have SOME sort of retaliation in return.
