auto type on key press [message #287486]

I seem to remember someone created a program for renegade which allowed you to press for exemple one of the numpad keys which would then display a certain chat message. For exemple I could hit "1" on the numpad and then it would say "repair the war factory".

Does anyone remember this program? Isn't this similar to how the end key works to show c4? Any ideas on this?

What do you mean by a4, this interest me because if i can get a automatic message to show, then I could possibly code it to call for a .wav file in always.dat and annoy people in servers with my custom sounds.

A4 as in the standard sheet paper size. He implys that he has a sheet of A4 paper on the wall with the commands to Renegade on them, so he doesn't have to hold in the trigger keys to get it in the screen.

The custom scripts keycfg.exe has a "Repair the <most damaged building>" button set under the "Radio1" value. Is that what you're looking for? The server also has to have scripts.dll/bhs.dll (not sure which) running in order to accept it.

I know the standard auto complete is like "repref" and it shows a message as "Repair the refinery", but what we are looking for is pressing a button and it auto says a phrase.

Unfortunately, you still need to hit f3/f2, then type your message where I was looking for something like ctrl-num1 = repair the war factory.

This feature does exactly what BI and TK2-server already do server side, so that's no huge help for me (I can configure those myself Razz

).

For intrested people, I uploaded the program here, though (fileplanet sucks).
