The white ipod is offically gone and dead now, so all you apple fans can go and morn to the loss of a brother/sister/it.
In a new apple show they showed that there will be 4 new ipods
Ipod touch: similar to the ihpone with similar layout, does really the same as the iphone but doesnt make phone calls, can sirf the web
Ipod classic: like the ipod we all know, but made to look more like the nano, rounded alliminum with nano colors
Ipod Nano: similar to the old big ipod, now with large wide screen but small sotrage and size.
Ipod shuffle: actually this one is 100% the same as what came out just last month.

The Classic is now 80gig standard for 250 dollars, alot cheaper than 350 when it 80gigs first came out, the ipod touch is only 8gig for 300 dollars, so you paying for a internet browser, 8gig, and iphone application compatibility, nano and shuffle are the same prices.
The zune better be just as cool, they did ok when apple released their "new" ipods last year, because the zine/ipod had the same features just about, now with apple releasing first again this year, who knows that microsoft will bring? if it isnt as cool as the ipod touch or classic I'm going to go buy one then (perferably touch) but wait I dont have much music  sooo no point of me buying such a thing

Tell you the truth, just because I report, doesnt mean i really love them, I like the touch ipod design and features, but I'd rather have a zune 2.0 if they are just as good, they do really the same thing, play music and video, and I'm sure it will have song downloading from wifi without hooking the thing to your PC, I just dont like the ipods glossy chrome in the back, they easily get scratched and bad looking, thats why i prefer the zune design which has thin rubber on the outside, but then the new ipods are stainless steel actually, no alluminum, so they wont get scratched....but then the ipod touch which is the best one still has a chrome back.....but then again the iphone when it came out it had aftermarket rubber backs and cases which made the thing look cooler than cool.......confuz0ring

Yes true true, but then phones which such capabilities are expensive too, my fathers cell phone samsung a990 was the best there was back like 6months ago, the cost was 400 dollars which is the same as an iphone, but his phone is has like a 2 inch screen, and small built in storage.....then again we got it on sale....so.....meh if i want a cellphone I'll go buy one, I dont actually have a cellphone xD
If i want a mp3 player i'll go buy a ipod/zune, i have tons of cheap mp3 players, but none of them really match up to the big fancy ones.

Okay, so you'd rather have a brown turd than a sophisticated mass-market Apple product just because one protects has a rubberized back? At least the front is made of durable, good ol' Aluminum and those scratches can be literally transformed into 'brush metal' (look) with a simple sponge, believe it or not. I gotta admit though, I was perfectly happy with the all-aluminum design of the former gen. Nanos.
Unless Apple fucks up hard in the near future, the iPod will remain king, just like Microsoft remained king amongst operating system makers for over 9000 years (Vista isn't a bad product overall, but lack of decent drivers and reasons to upgrade from XP might make people turn themselves to Apple... Actually, the only thing that Apple could use is product awareness - my mother didn't even know the iMac was an all-in-one, she thought what was shown was the monitor alone o_O).
It takes a long time for established brands and products to be replaced, the auto industry is a great example of this.
Cellphones... Um, well, I have no use for say, an iPhone, and my cellphone (a Samsung A640) serves 3 purposes, communication when necessary (I'm not under a contract, contracts are horrible financial decisions the majority of the time, my parents took three phones and a family plan which we almost never used and paid above a 100 bucks per month, which is extremely ridiculous given our usage, go figure why they're giving the phones away for free), being a camera when I don't have my digital camera in hand, or being my watch (guarantees accurate time, too). So I'm rarely using it unless I have an emergency or need to communicate with my family or friends, I put about 8 bucks on it each month / a $100 card per year, which is the minimum I can add to it, and it's all I need. The thing that annoys me the most is them spoiled girls with their over-personalized cellphones who feel like they need to say hi to their friends every 6 minutes... As for kids... Well, I don't know, it can serve a purpose every now and then, but yeah...

You seriously need to STFU. Just because you can't read doesn't mean that you should stop other people from posting.
Those images are actually real. I just watched the keynote speech.
You may also like to hear that Apple have dropped the 4gb iPhone, and lowered the price of the 8gb iPhone from $599, to $399, the same price as a 16gb iPod Touch.
Can't wait till they're released here

I own an iPod, but I've never subscribed to the whole 'chic' thing, where people walk around with their iPod's as if they were jewelry.
However, iTunes is being totally fagged out on me, so when my Nano, which is almost two years old kicks the bucket, I'll get a Creative or Sandisk one.

Ya i just found out it was a "mini" version of OSX, i never read any details about it's software, only specs about hardware, but still it's nice to know third party wifi applications do work on the ipod touch, they claim theres no email or instant message clients for te ipod touch, well just use a free third party program, I'd like to see firefox on the menu of the ipod touch, I think it would fit nicley with the layout of the menu, but safari is good too.
The ipod touch's interface is actually different from the iphone's it uses a glossier looking icon set which is claimed by apple to be out in the new OSX, while the iphone is a older set of icons, to me they look at the same, but side by side, the ipod touch's is nicer.
