Press V while you are a infantry. Same as the default failing vehicle view. (the one where you need to turn vehicle body to change camera view.)

I sometimes use it, if i'm a sniper and some engi is in the distance, i'd stand there (in a safe spot, obviously) and use free targetting... then i'd click the engi, then he dies. :D

Yeah, it's pretty much useless, I think.

It's more accurate then trying to turn your whole body.
Hold the button, move the mouse, fire.
You dont have to worry about where your guy is in comparision to where his shots will go in order to hit him.

You are right absolutely but unfortunately such accuracy comes at a frownable cost. You are vulnerable standing stationary.

Holding "v", pressing "WASD" randomly, and aiming with the mouse all at the same time is a bit hard. And I really don't want to get used to having reconfigured keys. :/

tbh u dont have to reconfigure ur keys...
u reconfigure ur fingers...it seems incredibly uncomfortable at first but u get used to it and it becomes a habit, and for all u huggers whilst sniping it is perfect weapon.
